Since 2006 the Haiti Hospital Appeal has been providing lifesaving health care in Haiti.  The devastating 2010 earthquake irrevocably transformed our work, placing us at the forefront of some of the most critical national needs.  At this exciting and challenging time, HHA are looking for an injection of new trustees with the skills and passion to take the charity to a new level.

Whilst HHA has been able to partake in some major responses alongside the UN, USAID, MSF and others, the affects of 2010 have profoundly changed our work.  The appeal has faced astonishing economic and infrastructural change, and is now re-structuring accordingly.

Using the national and international reputation gained after astonishing momentum since 2010, we are eager to build upon previous success and form a new team with the commitment, professionalism and energy to take the next steps in this vital period.  Please take the time to read some of the positions currently available.  Please note (our office is based in South East London, and applicants for the Finance Officer and UK Coordinator will need to work within our office.)

FINANCE OFFICER:

UK COORDINATOR:

We’re also seeking a UK Coordinator who has the skills, passion and ability to help progress our UK based activities, and fit in with our small, personal team.  The role requires someone with an enthusiastic and flexible approach to work, who has a genuine heart for justice, development and the Christian faith.  Please contact carwyn@haitihospitalappeal.org to find out more information.  Closing date for applications: 26th October 2011

TRUSTEES:

We are looking for voluntary trustees with the means to attend monthly or by monthly meetings, and invest some personal time in fulfilling HHAs high ambitions:

ROLES:

We are seeking a Treasurer with the experience of project managing budgets and the vision to help energise fundraising strategies.   We also seek a Secretary with previous charitable experience at board level within the UK, and medical board representatives who have a passion to help direct our chore services.  We are open to receiving applications for other trustee positions outside of these areas.

We believe these roles present an exciting opportunity for individuals who share in our faith and values, to create profound, long-term change across Haiti.

6-12 month Voluntary Internship

We’re looking for a passionate, vibrant and creative voluntary intern for a 6-12 month period.  If you have a heart for issues of poverty and justice, and are happy to get stuck into a variety of activities then get in touch.  The internship will provide you with a great range of skills, and the opportunity to be involved in an exciting NGO helping to rebuild Haiti in the aftermath of the recent earthquake.  We’re after people with good administration skills, or those with a more creative edge, who’d happily develop campaigns, work with our designers, and visit schools, churches and the like holding talks.  Voluntary position, expenses only.  Hours negotiable.
