Summer Miracles (Reninca)
It is with a heavy heart and many tears that I left Haiti this morning. As I sit in Miami airport and reflect the Glory of our Lord Jesus I am overwhelmed at how we have seen him perform blessing after blessing over us and the Haiti Hospital Appeal this summer. I am reminded of Luke 18:27 “what is impossible with men is possible with God.”
We have been blessed with our hospital registration meaning we are a recognised institution in Haiti, our car registration, release of containers, delivery of aid and organisation of much needed equipment. We have had equipment delivered that is brand new and will literally save lives. The paediatric building should be finished in the next couple of days – as they put the final tiles in. The surgical ward is also almost finished just needing last minute buts of painting. It is not down to any work of man but God, who can make the impossible possible.
The clinic continues to develop with the roof being repaired, some of the rooms being painted and the services continuing. The staff are very dedicated and provide a great service to the local community. Our ambulance is continuously used to serve the clinic and save lives.
The spinal ward is just a miracle. The patients are going from strength to strength as one of our volunteers Hannah has been organising activities for them. As I walked past yesterday afternoon they were loving the wheelchair races and circuit sessions she has been organising. They are also starting lessons on using the sewing machines we had donated, which they are all excited about. Each patient and family member in the unit is a miracle, all have lost family, friends and possessions yet everyday I am amazed at their enthusiasm, love and faith. I will dearly miss each of them – they have taught me so much about life and appreciating what we have.
The children’s home has been amazing. We now have a nurse who works everyday to assess the children and provide advice to parents. Also a teacher who does one to one activities with the children. Healing hands for Haiti have come and done some training with all the staff and our physio assistant. We have opened a ‘piti Maison de Benediction’ which is a satellite centre in La Victoire which is a rural community. Parents in this community have never had access to any support for disabled children. As I visited some homes last weekend we met one 11 year old girl who had spent her whole life lying down so much so that her muscles were so tight she could not sit. Her parents were very excited about having somewhere to go to learn more about their child and how to support them better.
We also have a ramp at the front of the main Maison de Benediction now to facilitate the daily visits from the spinal patients. The children are continuing to develop, they love the singing, activities and games. It has been wonderful to spend time with Grace. She is growing so fast always smiling, giggling and babbling – she is loved by everyone and is constantly being kissed, cuddled and played with; she is a true blessing.
We thank you for your prayers. It is through everyone’s prayers and faithfulness that we have seen such good things happen. Please pray that things continue, we are still waiting on another container and to hear back from some funding opportunities but know with God all things are possible. Thanks for all your support, lets keep on praying.

Lots of wonderful news. It is truly amazing what has been achieved so far. We must give God all the glory for everything.
Much love to all in Haiti
